Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on bringing a long-serving Liverpool man to the club.
Bayern Munich have already proven they know the way to Anfield, and after the stunning success of Luis Diaz in Bavaria, the German giants won’t hesitate to come knocking on Liverpool’s door once more.
Last summer, Bayern prised Diaz away from Liverpool in a €75 million deal after a prolonged transfer saga. The Colombian winger initially signalled his desire to leave Merseyside, but the Reds held firm until Bayern’s improved second bid finally matched their valuation. Liverpool were reluctant sellers, but Diaz’s refusal to extend his contract left the club with little choice.
It’s fair to say the move has paid off handsomely for all parties – especially Bayern. Diaz has been nothing short of sensational in the Bundesliga, racking up 19 goals and 15 assists across all competitions so far this season.
With that kind of return on investment fresh in their minds, Bayern are now casting their eye over another Liverpool player — Joe Gomez.
CaughtOffside has reported that Gomez is approaching a pivotal summer, with Liverpool ready to let the 28-year-old move on. The Reds want to reshape their backline with younger, more specialised profiles, and with Gomez’s contract expiring in 2027, this summer represents the last realistic window to command a significant transfer fee.
AC Milan are also named as admirers of Gomez having attempted to sign him last summer.
West Ham and Brighton have also been linked, though neither carries the same pull as a move to Serie A or the Bundesliga. Gomez’s salary demands — reportedly around £4.5 million per year — along with his injury history could also narrow the field of realistic suitors.
It is added that although Gomez has long accepted a squad role at Liverpool, he now appears increasingly receptive to pursuing a fresh challenge elsewhere.
