GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Stephen O’Brien, a passionate Green Bay Packers supporter from Ireland, has been selected as the team’s nominee for the NFL International Fan of the Year award. O’Brien is one of 32 nominees chosen by NFL clubs from around the world, with the winner to be announced during Draft Week in Pittsburgh in 2026.
O’Brien founded the UK and Irish Packers Fan Club in 2013, transforming a small group of fans into the largest Packers fan club outside the United States. The club now connects thousands of supporters who share a love for the team, gathering for watch parties, social events, and other activities that celebrate Packers football. He also hosts one of Europe’s most popular Packers podcasts.
One of O’Brien’s most impactful contributions is organizing annual supporter tours to Lambeau Field, allowing international fans to experience Green Bay in person.

As the Packers’ nominee, O’Brien will receive a trip to the 2026 NFL Draft featuring two tickets to the exclusive Packers Inner Circle, access to special VIP events, and the honor of announcing a Draft selection on stage.
The Packers also commissioned a special tribute to O’Brien’s nomination: an 8-by-8-meter mural painted in his hometown of Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland. Local artist Stephen Considine completed the celebratory artwork in less than a week, working through storms to finish the project. The mural also features Daniel Whelan, a Packers punter who also hails from County Wicklow, creating a shared tribute to the county’s connection to the team.
