Age has always been just a number to Al Horford, but his season with the Golden State Warriors in 2025-26 hasn't been amazing.
That's what made Horford's showing on Sunday night against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets a pleasant surprise.
The veteran big man finished with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, including a scorching 6-of-7 from three-point range. He added seven assists, three steals, and two blocks in 27 minutes while drawing the initial defensive assignment on Jokic and committing zero fouls.
Horford set the tone early with two threes and 11 points in the first quarter, then drained his sixth triple during a decisive fourth-quarter run that sealed the victory for the shorthanded Warriors.
Through 35 games with Golden State, Horford is now averaging 7.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 20.8 minutes per contest.
He's shooting 41.9 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from beyond the arc, providing spacing, defensive versatility, and steady playmaking off the bench or in the starting group.
At age 39 and in his 19th NBA season, the former [Boston Celtics](https://nesn.com/boston-celtics) stalwart has clearly begun adapting to his new role and team.
