Newest Aussie NBA star debuts alongside Joe Ingles for Minnesota Timberwolves

The Australian NBA talent pool has just gotten deeper, with Aussie big man Rocco Zikarsky logging his first NBA minutes for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Zikarsky checked in for the final four minutes of action as the Wolves were getting blown out by the Philadelphia 76ers, playing his first minutes alongside fellow Australian Joe Ingles.

Zikarsky was not able to record his first points yet, but was able to pull down a rebound in the team's 27-point loss to the 76ers.

Minnesota had seen some minutes free'd up at the center position following the one-game suspension to Rudy Gobert, opening the door for Zikarsky to feature for the first time this season.

Zikarsky had previously suited up for the Timberwolves in the pre-season, matching up against three-time MVP Nikola Jokić at one point.

With the loss to Philadelphia, Minnesota were unable to make up ground on the third-seeded Denver Nuggets, falling to a record of 35-23.

Their next outing comes on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.
