Kevin Durant expects to play in 2028 Olympics

One of the most accomplished Team USA players in history, Houston Rockets superstar Kevin Durant is looking to add another Olympic medal to his collection.

According to ESPN, Durant expects to play in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

"You guys, the media, have projected that," Durant told ESPN recently. "That narrative, where did the last dance thing come from? I didn't say I wasn't playing. LeBron said he wasn't. You didn't hear that from me or Steph."

Curry appears unlikely to play at this point, and James has already said he will not participate in 2028, but Durant still wants to be a key part of the team.

"Hell yeah, I want to play," Durant said. "I would love to, but I've got to stay on top of my game. I don't want to just be there; I want to produce on the floor and make Grant and whoever is making the decisions want to put me on the team. I want to prove I can still help the team win."

"Today, yeah, I feel like I'll put my name in that hat," he added.

Durant has appeared in five major tournaments with Team USA in his career, winning four Olympic gold medals and one FIBA World Cup gold.

This season, the 37-year-old is still one of the league’s top scorers, averaging 26.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.
