Barcelona youngster Jofre Torrents is primed for a prolonged incoming spell on the treatment table in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes owing to an injury suffered this past weekend.
The name of left-back Jofre will of course be a familiar one to those of a Barcelona persuasion.
After bursting onto the first-team picture in Hansi Flick’s squad last summer, the Spanish starlet has since been a regular in matchday setups, giving rise to four senior appearances across the season to date.
Recent weeks have seen Jofre return to reserve team level in Catalunya, following the winter arrival of João Cancelo.
On Sunday, the 19-year-old therefore took to the pitch for Barca Atlètic, in a meeting with Alcoyano.
En route to an eventual 1-1 draw, though, Jofre was hauled off during the 2nd-half in evident distress, after picking up an ankle problem.
And as alluded to above, 24 hours on, the extent of this issue has been confirmed.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms:
‘The medical tests carried out have shown that Jofre Torrents, a player from Barça Atlètic, has a syndesmosis injury to his left ankle. The estimated recovery time will be between 10 and 12 weeks.’
