Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been married since 2018.
The Duchess of Sussex was spotted wearing a new pear-shaped diamond ring on her right hand during the NBA All-Star game on Feb. 15.
Fans of the couple are speculating that it’s a new engagement ring. Here’s what we know about Meghan’s stunning sparkler.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been going strong since they tied the knot back in 2018. At the time, Meghan wore a gorgeous trilogy engagement ring from Cleave & Company, which was designed by Harry himself. If that’s not love, we don’t know what is!
But, earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex raised eyebrows when she was spotted with a stunning new sparkler at the NBA All-Star game.

That wasn’t the first time Meghan wore the new piece of jewelry, either. She previously wore it at Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Festival in New York City back in October.

Anywho! Neither Meghan nor Harry has revealed any info or anecdotes about the pear-shaped ring, which has led internet sleuths and fans to speculate that it could potentially be a second engagement ring for the Duchess. Here’s everything we know about Meghan Markle’s new ring (so far, anyway).
So, is Meghan’s new jewelry an engagement ring?
Some fans initially believed that the pear-shaped diamond was an upgrade for her trilogy engagement ring—so when her OG engagement ring was prominently displayed in this As Ever Instagram post from February 22 (pls see slide 2), fans were understandably confused.
What they didn’t realize: Meghan has only ever worn her new rock on her right ring finger while still wearing her trilogy engagement ring on her left.
It’s unclear whether this is the intention behind Meghan’s pear-shaped sparkler, but Angie Kennedy, Zales’s vice president of product merchandising, tells Elle, “Right-hand rings often reflect personal style and milestones rather than tradition. For a piece of this significance, wearing it on the right hand allows it to shine as a statement and highlights her individual self-expression.”
How much does Meghan’s pear-shaped diamond ring cost?
Don’t look at us like that—we know you’re wondering! Per Elle, several jewelers estimate that Meghan’s ring is between 4 and 6 carats and worth up to six figures.
Steph Mazuera, the jeweler behind her own namesake brand, tells the outlet, “The center stone appears to be approximately 5 to 6 carats. For a high-quality natural diamond in that size range, you are easily looking at a six-figure valuation.”
The founder and CEO of Alexandra Beth Fine Jewelry, Alexandra Samit, believes pear-shapes are the new “it” stone on the market, adding that Meghan’s has “an estimated value starting at around $250,000, depending on the diamond’s quality.”
