Despite the criticisms in the media and from rival fanbases, [Arsenal](https://goonernews.com/) striker Viktor Gyokeres is leading all the new Premier League No. 9’s in goals scored in all competitions.
Arsenal were initially favored to sign Benjamin Sesko while Manchester United were expected to reunite Ruben Amorim and Gyokeres, but, in the end, the Gunners and Gyokeres wanted each other more than the other options.
So far this season, Gyokeres is leading all the major striker signings this summer 2025 transfer window in the goal charts in all competitions, with Chelsea’s new star Joao Pedro and Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike right behind him with 14 goals to the big Swede’s 15.
1\. Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal, 15 goals
2\. Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool, 14 goals
3\. Joao Pedro, Chelsea, 14 goals
4\. Nick Woltemade, Newcastle United, 10 goals
5\. Benjamin Sesko, Manchester United, 7 goals
Sesko is the most raw of these strikers, so it will take some time for him to join the rest. Pedro, Woltemade, and Ekitike are all younger than Gyokeres, too, but it really goes to show you how well Gyokeres has been playing, especially in the Champions League, that he’s first.
Ekitike and Pedro have been better all-around, and you can make a case that Woltemade has been, too. But Arsenal already have Bukayo Saka and signed Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard to add to Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Martinelli as all-around players.
They signed Gyokeres for the goals, and he is legitimately delivering.
