Depot After Dark: Najee Harris Recovering, Robert Woods Coaching, Dan Rooney Talks Pittsburgh…

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article, but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for Feb. 23.

NAJEE HARRIS RECOVERING

Najee Harris was the Steelers’ first-round pick in 2021, and he spent the first four years of his career there. He was a solid player in Pittsburgh, recording at least 1,000 yards in each season and never missing a game. However, he left the Steelers last offseason, signing with the Los Angeles Chargers. Unfortunately, things went poorly for him. Injuries, including an Achilles tear, limited him to three games.

However, Harris isn’t letting his ugly 2025 season keep him down. Doug Hendrickson shared a video on Twitter of Harris running on a treadmill, showing his progress in his recovery. He’s set to be a free agent, but there’s a lot of risk attached to him. He’s committed to bouncing back, and hopefully, he makes a full recovery.

ROBERT WOODS COACHING

Robert Woods enjoyed a nice NFL career, playing from 2013 to 2025 and winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams. He also spent some time with the Steelers in 2025, although he never played in a game with them. After retiring recently, he already has a new job in the NFL.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported that Woods has joined the Rams as an assistant wide receiver coach. He played for them from 2017 to 2021, recording some of his best seasons. Now that his playing career is done, Woods is entering the next chapter of his life. He was a good player, and while that doesn’t always translate into coaching, we’ll see if Woods can succeed.

DAN ROONEY TALKS PITTSBURGH DOC

The city of Pittsburgh has a strong connection to football. Not only are the Steelers one of the most popular NFL franchises, but many successful football players have come out of Pittsburgh. Examples include Dan Marino, Tony Dorsett, and Aaron Donald. That’s why NFL Films is releasing a documentary called The Football Town that focuses on Pittsburgh’s connection to football.

Daniel Martin Rooney, son of Steelers owner Art Rooney II, recently discussed the documentary as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Brian Batko shared on Twitter. Rooney seems poised to be the Steelers’ next owner after his father’s tenure ends. He’s been more involved in recent years, with this being yet another example.
