This hire comes as the Packers prepare for a critical offseason that includes free agency, the draft and internal roster evaluations. Securing a seasoned evaluator underscores the importance the organization places on building through the draft and finding value in the collegiate ranks.
Redmond’s resume includes time spent working closely with young players and contributing to talent acquisition strategies. His familiarity with the college landscape and network within recruiting circles could prove beneficial as the Packers seek impact players in upcoming drafts.

General Manager Brian Gutekunst recently announced the hiring of Redmond as their new college scout. This is detailed more in an update shared by the team’s official website.
The Green Bay Packers have added Will Redmond as a college scout. The announcement was made Friday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Redmond joins the Packers after working as the general manager at Auburn University (2024-25). Prior to Auburn, he worked at Louisiana State University as the director of player personnel (2021-23). While at LSU he was named Player Personnel Director of the Year for 2022 by FootballScoop.com. Redmond also served as the director of player personnel at Middle Tennessee State University (2016-18) before he landed at the University of Kansas as the director of recruiting (2019-20). He earned his undergraduate (2013) and graduate degrees (2015) from the University of Tennessee in Sport Management while working with the university’s athletic department in multiple capacities.
The timing of the announcement aligns with other NFL teams’ roster construction efforts, as clubs across the league continue to shuffle staff and coaching roles. For Green Bay, strengthening the scouting department may help provide a competitive edge in identifying prospects who fit the team’s schemes and culture.
As the offseason progresses, attention will shift to how the franchise leverages this addition in their broader strategy. Bringing in Redmond reflects a commitment to thorough evaluation and preparation as the franchise aims to maintain consistent competitiveness in a challenging NFC North and beyond.
