FAIRHOPE, Ala. ([WALA](https://www.fox10tv.com/)) - St. Michael High School quarterback Gunner Rivers has committed to NC State, 26 years after his father, former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers, played for the Wolf Pack.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound junior junior, chose NC State over reported offers from Auburn, Georgia and Miami.
Strong junior season
--------------------
Last season, Rivers completed 72% of his passes for 2,813 yards and 44 touchdowns, with just five interceptions. He led the Cardinals to a 13-1 record and a trip to the state semifinals.
Reunion with former teammate
----------------------------
Rivers will also reunite with former running back Noah Moss at NC State. Moss posted on social media Monday, saying, “Teammates again.”
Rivers is ranked 13th among players in Alabama in the 2027 recruiting class.
