Tottenham are in need of a defender.
Tottenham have been vying for a move to bring in a new defender for a while now. And given how the back line has been leaking goals left, right and centre this season, it is ideal that the Lilywhites should consider a move to bring in a more experienced figure at the heart of defence.
The stance to bring in an experienced figure is exemplified more so given that both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero have been linked with a possible exit. And if anyone were to even consider that possibility, then Tottenham needs to bring in someone who has that same level of presence in the back line.
And this is where the links to bring in Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger make sense.
Given that the former Chelsea man has his contract at Santiago Bernabeu concluding at the conclusion of the ongoing campaign, he will be available on a free transfer.
Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit of Antonio Rudiger
However, Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit, as Serie A giants Juventus are also said to be monitoring the situation closely, according to a latest report by TuttoJuve.
Juve want to transform their back line immediately, and signing a Champions League pedigree defender is something they are eyeing especially given that he is available on a free transfer which has only fortified their pursuit.

Given that Rudiger has thrived in the English top tier before, it is ideal that Tottenham would want to bring him to N17. But a move to London would require Tottenham to present Europe opportunities, which he gets at Juventus (or most of the other European elites that are interested), but by the looks of it, it is hard to come by at Hotspur Way next season.
This is where Lange and Vinai need to earn their money. They need to go in there and sell him on the project at Tottenham and how (if he were to move), Rudiger would be a key cog in the dressing room.
We will see where this goes, but at the moment, if the likes of Juve were to enter the race, Tottenham won’t be able to compete purely on a sporting basis. But in terms of money and that Premier League exposure, Spurs can surely blow the Lilywhites away.
