Latest on Vince Williams Jr.'s injury: Jazz fear worst-case scenario

Jazz sources fear this is an ACL injury and that it could mean significant recovery time for Vince Williams Jr.

The Utah Jazz guard Vince Williams Jr. likely suffered a serious injury in last night's 105–125 loss to the Houston Rockets.

While running down the court on a fast break early in the second quarter, Williams was hip-checked by Rockets forward Tari Eason.

As he tried to steady himself after the collision, Williams' knee bent in the wrong direction and he fell out of bounds in front of the Jazz bench.

Williams was helped off the court by Jazz staff before being taken to the locker room. He later left the arena on crutches.

According to Jazz beat reporter Sarah Todd of the Deseret News, team sources fear the injury could be a torn ACL, which would likely require significant recovery time and potentially end Williams' season.

Williams finished the game with 1 point, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in 7 minutes of playing time.

This season, the 25-year-old guard is averaging 7.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 40 appearances for the Jazz.
