Cleveland Browns Offensive Free Agency Preview - Strengths & Weaknesses

If the Cleveland Browns could guarantee they will walk away with two starting tackles in free agency they would take them but there is a very real risk that both Francis Mauigoa and Spencer Fano are gone by pick six as things stand. You can't take the risk and rely on Dawand Jones to start week one if the draft sees a run on the position at the top of the order.

A lot of player will tend to re-sign, so while we see some names there they could be off the board by the time free agency starts, Braden Smith, Braxton Jones, Cam Robinson, Elijah Wilkinson, Jack Conklin, Jermaine Eluemunor, Jonah Williams, Rasheed Walker, Rob Havenstein, Trent Brown and Trey Pipkins. A combination I really like the for the Browns is Walker and Jones. Then if you are drafting someone you come from a position of strength when turning around a poor unit in 2025. Walker isn't perfect and lacks ideal run blocking talent but he will keep the quarterback on his feet. That might not fit what Monken is likely wanting to build with a balanced offensive attack.

Guard

There is no risk with this position room, you can easily find talent here wherever you look. You have Alijah Vera-Tucker, Dalton Risner, Daniel Faalele, David Edwards, Dillon Radunz, Dylan Parham, Ed Ingram, Greg Van Roten, Isaac Seumalo, Joel Bitonio, John Simpson, Kevin Zeitler, Michael Jordan, Teven Jenkins, Trevor Penning, Wyatt Teller and Zion Johnson. I think they will have no issue signing two of these players, hopefully Bitonio is one of them. Again this could be a position they are drafting in the late first or early second, so older players in a transition is fine.

If they don't trust Zinter to step up, there are plenty of swing guard options to choose from in free agency. You don't need to look at the guard trade market in too much depth as free agency gives you so many options but maybe the trade market is cheaper due to this and you get a move in early rather than risking any bidding wars.

Center

You have Connor McGovern, Tyler Linderbaum and uncertainty in free agency. For a position room that struggled league wide in 2025 it is not ideal to be chasing an upgrade. They could have a head start in the bidding war for Linderbaum due to Monken but if he doesn't come to Cleveland then pickings will be slim. This will likely mean they are looking to someone such as Austin Schlottmann, Corey Levin, Danny Pinter, Matt Hennessy, Max Scharping , Sam Mustipher, Andre James, Cade Mays, Ethan Pocic, Luke Fortner and Sean Rhyan to share the position room with Luke Wypler.
