Chelsea could face an important contract dilemma involving midfield pair Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo as the season enters its decisive phase.
Both players remain central to Chelsea’s long-term project and are tied down to lengthy deals — Fernández until 2032 and Caicedo until 2031, with an option for an additional year. Despite that security, speculation has emerged that the duo are seeking improved terms to reflect their growing importance within the squad.
Fernández has continued to be one of Chelsea’s most influential figures in possession, dictating tempo and contributing creatively from deep areas. Caicedo, meanwhile, has established himself as a key defensive anchor, shielding the back line and ranking among the side’s most consistent performers.
Interest from elite European clubs has inevitably fuelled discussion around their futures, with Fernández, in particular, continuing to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.
The club would prefer to hold off negotiations until the end of the season, but that does not mean they will not be aware of what could be a growing problem.
