It has taken a while, but figures inside Chelsea finally seem to have grown tired of the team’s ill-discipline this season.
Wesley Fofana was the latest player to be sent off after receiving two yellow cards in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Burnley over the weekend.
It’s getting ridiculous now 😡
How can Liam Rosenior stop this?

Chelsea concerned after Wesley Fofana joins red card list
Fofana’s red card appears to have been the tipping point for the bosses at Stamford Bridge.
Following his early exit last Saturday, journalist Rahman Osman has revealed on X that there is now “real concern” about Chelsea’s disciplinary record behind the scenes.
Fofana joins Robert Sanchez, Trevoh Chalobah, Joao Pedro, Malo Gusto, Liam Delap, Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella on Chelsea’s list of red cards this term.
When he was still at the club, Enzo Maresca was also dismissed after over-celebrating a last-minute winner against Liverpool.
With Fofana suspended, Maresca’s successor Liam Rosenior will have to make at least one change to his central defence on Sunday when Chelsea take on Arsenal. Some Chelsea fans are hoping to see Mamadou Sarr play in place of Fofana.

Chelsea’s number of Premier League red cards compared to last season
To put Chelsea’s ill-discipline into perspective, in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, they only received two red cards. This term, they are already on six in the competition.
The Blues are literally throwing away points through their inability to keep 11 men on the pitch.

Manchester United won again on Monday, resulting in Chelsea dropping out of the top four. If Rosenior’s men want to finish there come May, they need to stop chucking away leads like they did against Burnley.
However, that is going to be difficult if they keep getting players sent off. Rosenior needs to address this issue immediately.
