According to Lauren Conlin of Los Angeles Magazine, Fort Bend County grand jury declined to indict the 37-year-old, returning a "no bill" and effectively ending the case. The decision means jurors determined there was insufficient evidence to move forward with criminal prosecution.

Beverley had been accused of assaulting his sister during an incident on Nov. 14, according to reports from TMZ, which cited a probable cause affidavit.

The affidavit alleged that Beverley’s sister left home in the middle of the night without permission to meet her boyfriend at a nearby park. After returning, their mother reportedly contacted Beverley and asked him to come to the house.

Beverley allegedly grabbed his sister by the neck with both hands, lifted her off the ground, and squeezed for 20–30 seconds, restricting her breathing. He was further accused of carrying her while choking her, slamming her against walls, placing her on a couch, punching her in the left eye, and threatening her life.

Officials reportedly observed markings on the sister’s neck and petechiae in the whites of her eyes — signs commonly associated with strangulation.

Beverley was taken into custody and booked at the Fort Bend County Jail on a third-degree felony assault charge. In Texas, a third-degree felony carries a potential sentence of two to ten years in prison if convicted.

However, following the grand jury’s review of the case, no charges will be filed.
