Whatever your opinion about football and statistics, occasionally one comes along that smacks you straight between the eyes and brooks no argument. West Ham pre [Axel Disasi](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-hams-disasi-gamble-pays-off-heres-why-im-pleasantly-surprised/) managed one clean sheet in 26 games: With the Chelsea defender in the starting line up, West Ham have managed three from four.
Which is both a compelling case for keeping the loanee in the starting eleven and a damning indictment of the ‘ever present’ fragile West Ham defender Max Kilman under Nuno, Potter and Lopetegui.
Sadly there is no option to buy Disasi included in the so-called ‘dry loan’ but if he manages to help keep the Hammers in the top flight, his should be the first signature Nuno seeks to win in the summer transfer window.
Quite possibly the west London side’s manager Liam Rosenior won’t want him back in the Blues’ squad: His style will not be suitable for Chelsea in any case, according to their own fan site [thechelseachronicle.com.](https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/news/jarrod-bowen-drops-his-verdict-on-chelsea-loanee-axel-disasi-at-west-ham-so-far/)
“Disasi doesn’t really suit Chelsea’s new style”
------------------------------------------------
_“Rosenior’s tactical shift requires line-breaking centre-backs who are good in possession. While Disasi is a reliable defender, he doesn’t quite match the criteria compared to others.”_
Which gives Hammers fans hope at least that – notwithstanding a likely Max Kilman-like £40 million price tag – West Ham may be able to take advantage of the _entente cordiale_ which exists between the two clubs these days and convince Chelsea to make the move permanent in the summer.
But only if – and its a big if – West Ham manage to overhaul one side – most likely Forest or Tottenham – in the next eleven games.
