Five Chelsea stars all make combined South Premier League XI

Chelsea quintet Joao Pedro, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Robert Sanchez have all made WhoScored’s combined South Premier League team.

Pedro and Fernandez are arguably Chelsea’s two most in-form players right now, and that has not gone unnoticed.

Pedro scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season against Burnley over the weekend, but it was not enough to secure his side all three points as they surrendered their lead at the death.

Joao Pedro, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Robert Sanchez all make South Premier League XI

WhoScored recently put together a team of the best players from Premier League clubs in the south of England.

The inclusion of Pedro, Fernandez, Caicedo, Cucurella and Sanchez means Chelsea have a larger representation in this combined XI than league leaders Arsenal.

The Gunners had only three representatives: Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Gabriel.

Saka, Rice and Gabriel are set to welcome Pedro, Fernandez, Caicedo, Cucurella and Sanchez to the Emirates this Sunday when Arsenal take on Chelsea.

The two London giants recently faced off in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, with Arsenal winning both of the two legs.

Fofana was in tears after the second game as he watched the chance to win a trophy slip away and will not have an opportunity to get his revenge at the weekend either. Fofana is suspended following his red card against Burnley.

Joao Pedro has been the second-best forward in London this season

Pedro has been in devastating form of late and has been one of the top strikers in the whole of the Premier League this term.

However, the Brazilian is quite fortunate to make WhoScored’s South Premier League XI over compatriot Igor Thiago.

Thiago has actually scored more goals in the top flight than Pedro, netting 17 times in 27 appearances.

Following Thomas Frank’s departure last summer, many were expecting Brentford to struggle under Keith Andrews. Yet the former midfielder has got a real tune out of Thiago and the rest of the Bees team.

After Thiago, who has been linked to Chelsea, Pedro has probably been the top forward in London this season.
