Jurgen Klopp has enjoyed an incredible week in Milan for the 2026 Winter Olympics. The former Liverpool manager soaked up the atmosphere after ringing the bell in the biathlon men's relay.

Klopp is a big fan of biathlon star and 14-time Olympic medallist Ole Einar Bjorndalen. He posted pictures from his time at the Winter Olympics to Instagram yesterday. He said: "Absolute bucket list week at Milan Cortina 2026 for a life-long biathlon fan like me! Thank you to biathlon world and of course Ole Einar Bjorndalen for making it possible."

Speaking to TNT Sports last week, Klopp expressed his admiration for the mindset of Olympians. He said: "What they do, and all the Olympic sports with four years in between, the mental side of it, so immense. You have to be fit and at the top of your game on exactly that day."

He explained that Olympians face similarities to those competing in a Champions League final, he said: "It's completely the same, you have to deal with setbacks constantly.

"We in football miss big chances, concede easy goals, that's probably the most similar to missing the target, and still have to go on. You have to keep believing, there are a lot of similarities. The bigger the stake, the bigger the pressure."

Showcasing his love for the sport, Klopp has previously filmed a documentary with Bjorndalen, with the former football coach saying: "I don't think Ole Einar has bigger admirers than me.

"In England they have no idea what biathlon is. They wondered who this Norwegian was, but when I heard it, I said: 'Yes, I want to meet him. Where and when can I meet him?'

"He is actually on my bucket list. Now I can tick that box. It's like meeting Muhammad Ali in boxing. Bjorndalen is biathlon. I try to explain it to the English. He is Franz Beckenbauer, Pele and Bobby Moore in one person."

The Liverpool FC legend, who led the team to their first league title in 30 years and first ever Premier League title, left his role as manager in 2024. He took charge of the Reds for nine years and saw the club win seven major trophies and be crowned champions of England, Europe and the World.

The German coach is currently head of football for the Red Bull Group. After his Anfield departure, he has had much more free time to enjoy aspects of life he wouldn't have been able to with the full-on schedule that being a Premier League manager carried.

Klopp will serve as Sir Kenny Dalglish's assistant when the Liverpool Legends take on Klopp's former side, Borussia Dortmund, in a charity fixture for the LFC Foundation in March.

The match will see Steven Gerrard lead the Reds out at Anfield with all funds raised going to the club's official charity. Klopp holds the position of the Foundation's honorary ambassador and March 28 will mark his long-awaited return to the club.
