"Manager's job is..." - Big new update drops regarding Arne Slot's future at Liverpool

As Arne Slot continues to battle to save his job as Liverpool’s head coach, a fresh update has dropped regarding his future at Anfield.

The Reds were so poor away to Nottingham Forest last weekend, but luckily for Slot, Alexis Mac Allister’s last-gasp goal secured a priceless 1-0 win at the City Ground.

In fairness to the Dutchman, he was willing to accept that Liverpool’s performance against Forest wasn’t good enough after the game, saying:

“My emotions were emotions of happiness and relief. This is probably the first time I have to do a different post-match press conference than I did throughout all these other games, because today we did not play a good game. The performance, especially in the first half, was not as we’ve had so many times this season.”

There are plenty of Liverpool fans who still aren’t convinced that Slot is the right man for the job, though, with a change in the dugout still possible at some point this year.

According to a source on X [via Caught Offside], those high up at Anfield will review the 47-year-old’s position at the end of the season, with even Champions League qualification possibly failing to save his job:

“Exclusive. Arne Slot will have his review on Monday 25th May with LFC officials. The manager’s job is still not safe even if UCL qualification is achieved. The review will be moved to Tuesday 2nd June if Liverpool are involved in the Champions League final.”

Should Arne Slot stay on as Liverpool’s head coach?

Liverpool have only actually lost two of their 20 matches, which seems scarcely believable, considering how unconvincing they have often been in that time.

That is why a section of the Reds fanbase still want a change this summer, if not before, and huge improvements are required if he is to show that he is the right man moving forward.

It has to be a case of both results and performances being good between now and May, with a top-four finish and a trophy arguably enough to keep him in the job.

Had Liverpool drawn 0-0 at Forest, the knives would be out again, and for Slot’s sake, victories against West Ham and Wolves in the next two Premier League games are imperative.
