Is Cooper Flagg playing tonight vs. Nets? Final status for Mavericks star

The Dallas Mavericks snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 134-130 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night.

Now, they’ll look to push their winning streak to two when they travel to Brooklyn to face the Nets on Tuesday night.

Cooper Flagg ruled out vs. Nets with left midfoot sprain

Unfortunately for the Mavs, they’ll continue to be without the services of star rookie Cooper Flagg, who has been officially ruled out of the game due to a left midfoot sprain.

It will be the fourth straight game missed by Flagg due to the injury, which also forced him to miss the Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star weekend. Flagg's last game action came on Feb. 10 against the Phoenix Suns.

So far this season, Flagg has appeared in 49 games for the Mavericks and posted averages of 20.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals per performance.

Flagg remains the current favorite to win Rookie of the Year, and his status isn't in jeopardy yet, but if he continues to miss games it could become a problem.

Flagg needs to play in at least 16 more games for Dallas this season in order to hit the 65-game threshold and be award eligible. The Mavs have 26 games remaining on their schedule, including the game against Brooklyn on Tuesday night.

The meeting between Dallas and Brooklyn will be the third and final of the season. The Mavericks won both of the previous matchups.
