Chelsea have received the most red cards in the Premier League this season, but they do not top the table for cautions.
Liam Rosenior’s side are also not committing as many fouls per game as some of their rivals in the division.

Wesley Fofana’s dismissal over the weekend was not a good look for Chelsea, with it being their sixth red card in the Premier League. However, they are simply not the dirtiest team in the English top flight.

Chelsea only fourth for yellows and fifth for fouls per game in Premier League
As per WhoScored, Chelsea have picked up a total of 62 yellow cards in the Premier League this season.
Bournemouth (63), Brighton & Hove Albion (65) and Tottenham Hotspur (68) have all been cautioned more times than the Blues.
Tottenham, Brighton and Bournemouth are also committing more fouls on average than Chelsea.
Tottenham are committing 11.4 fouls per game, Brighton 12 and Bournemouth 12.1. Chelsea, on the other hand, are only averaging 11.1, which is still quite high compared to the rest of the teams in the league but not as high as those three sides.
Wolverhampton Wanderers come out on top with an average of 13.4, with Rob Edwards’ team fouling themselves into the Championship.
It’s getting ridiculous now 😡
How can Liam Rosenior stop this?

Ultimately, Chelsea are not the dirtiest team in England and are not a dirty outfit in general, even if they have picked up a lot of cards this term.
Rather, they are a young and immature side who tend to make bad decisions on the pitch and cannot always control their emotions.
Some of their yellow cards this season have been for dissent, for example.
Whatever the case, there is concern inside Chelsea about the team’s ill-discipline, which still obviously needs to be addressed.
Across all competitions, Chelsea have picked up eight red cards. That is simply too many for a serious team with ambitions.
The Blues will never be that if they cannot finish a game with 11 men on the pitch.
