DETROIT (WILX) - The Detroit Lions will play a regular-season game this fall in Munich, Germany as part of the NFL International Series. The game will be Detroit’s first international game since playing in back-to-back seasons in London in 2014 & 2015.

No exact date or opponent was immediately announced for the game in Munich, but the game will be played at the FC Bayern Munich Stadium.
“We are thrilled to be playing internationally and specifically in Munich for the 2026 season,” said Detroit Lions President & CEO Rod Wood in a press release Tuesday. “As an organization, we have invested greatly in the German market and are excited to play in front of our passionate German fans.”
Lions star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown will get a chance to play in his mother’s home country of Germany.
“I cannot wait to play in front of the incredible fans that I’ve gotten to know through my visits and football camps in the country,” said St. Brown in the press release. “Their support for me and the country’s instant connection to the Lions brand is inspiring, and I’m looking forward to our team getting to showcase Detroit football on an international scale.”
