“Would Be An Immediate Starter”: PFF Has New York Giants Finding Next Star Offensive Lineman…

The New York Giants offense will have a lot of potential personnel changes in 2026. New York will have the fifth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Will the Giants draft a wide receiver, an offensive lineman, or another defensive player? It remains to be seen what head coach John Harbaugh, general manager Joe Schoen, and other people have in store during the 2026 NFL Draft.

One player that could potentially be drafted in the Top 10 is offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa from the Miami Hurricanes. He was impressive during the college football playoffs. A lot of teams have him or Spencer Fano from the Utah Utes as their top choices of offensive lineman on the board in this NFL Draft class.

Profootballfocus.com writer Dalton Wasserman created his latest three-round mock draft. With the fifth overall pick, he has the Giants selecting Mauigoa from Miami. Wasserman said,

“New York should aim to get younger on the offensive line this offseason, particularly with right guardGreg Van Rotenand right tackleJermaine Eluemunorentering free agency. Mauigoa would be an immediate starter on the right side after recording an excellent 87.0 PFF pass-blocking grade in 2025.”

If they were to draft him, it means that the Giants are probably not bringing back Jermaine Eluemunor. New York can go in many different directions. Andrew Thomas and Mauigoa could be one of the best offensive tackle tandems in the NFL if they were to stay healthy. If the Giants were to not draft the Hurricanes right tackle, keep an eye on the team drafting Ohio State Buckeyes safety Caleb Downs. Mauigoa is 6’6″ and weighs 315 lbs.
