Luka Doncic admitted the Lakers are still building chemistry with LeBron James and Austin Reaves after their blowout loss to the Celtics. Despite the talent of the trio, Doncic said they are not there yet and must improve quickly.

With LeBron James and Austin Reaves both healthy, this was supposed to be a chance for the Lakers to build rhythm before the playoff push.
Instead, they delivered one of their worst offensive performances of the 2025–26 NBA season, shooting just 39.1 percent from the field and struggling to find flow. After the game, Doncic addressed the growing concern about the Lakers trio.
"I think you see, you know, that we're not there yet, Like I said, we're working on it. But there should be, like, big potential about us three playing together," Doncic said in a post-game press conference.

James missed the first 14 games due to sciatica. Reaves was out from mid-December to early February with a calf injury. Then Doncic dealt with a hamstring issue and returned only after the All-Star break.
As a result, the trio has started just 10 games together, with the Lakers going 6–4 in those matchups.
