Dolphins get shaky message from Tua Tagovailoa amid uncertain future in Miami

The Miami Dolphins have been making sweeping changes so far this offseason. Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb have been cut already, and more could be on the horizon.

After those two big moves, the next most obvious decision to come for Miami is what the future of Tua Tagovailoa looks like with the Dolphins. New general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan could cut him, try to trade him, or keep him.

Amid such uncertainty, how does Tagovailoa feel? According to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, Sullivan revealed that Tagovailoa's representatives shared a shaky message on how they view the lefty quarterback's future in Miami.

Tua Tagovailoa, through reps, reveals thoughts on shaky Dolphins' future

"This has been communicated to Tua and his reps," Louis-Jacques reports, "who confirmed Tua plans to continue playing but didn't outright express interest in doing so in Miami: 'They have not, in particular, said he wants to stay,' Sullivan said."

Sullivan mentioned that "everything is on the table" with Tagovailoa this offseason, and that has led to an uncertain future with the Dolphins.

Any path forward with or without Tagovailoa is on the table for the Dolphins this offseason. The lefty QB knows that, but hasn't indicated a clear willingness to return.

This lack of commitment to the Dolphins from Tagovailoa, through his representatives, does not bode well for the lefty quarterback returning to the Dolphins in 2026.

Whether it's a release or a trade, the future of Tagovailoa in Miami looks to be coming to an end this offseason. Of course, there's still a chance he stays with the Dolphins, but that doesn't look likely with this comment from Sullivan.

Things are trending towards Tagovailoa leaving this offseason, but as of now, everything is still on the table for the Dolphins with their $212 million quarterback.
