Patriots Shoot Down Report About Replacing Will Campbell With This Player

The New England Patriots will not be moving Will Campbell, no matter what some reports might be trying to convince you...

If you're in need of some context, don't worry.

Jason La Canfora, who once worked for CBS Sports, NFL Network and The Washington Post, reported earlier this week that the club was considering moving the former top-five pick from left tackle to right tackle, sharing that it had interest in Green Bay Packers offensive tackle Rasheed Walker.

Eliot Wolf, the organization's executive vice president of player personnel, quickly shot down that report during his media availability at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.

"I saw that report, and it's not true," Wolf said, as transcribed by Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald.

The Patriots are clearly committed to seeing things through with Campbell, who despite struggling mightily down the stretch, ultimately did enough to instill some confidence from the coaching staff/front office that he was the right man for the job moving forward.

Wolf, Mike Vrabel and Drake Maye have all given him their vote of confidence since his putrid display in Super Bowl LX. Campbell is going to be the guy moving forward, and the organization is shooting down anything and everything that would suggest otherwise -- perhaps in an effort to build trust between the two sides, or just to convince themselves.

Either way, there's no question as to where he'll play next season.
