Jamie Carragher made the controversial call to name Petr Cech as his greatest ever Premier League goalkeeper, with fellow pundit Gary Neville not on board with his decision.
Carragher angered Manchester United fans by naming Cech above the likes of Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar in the history of the league.
John Terry believes Cech could still play at the top level now, and many Chelsea fans would largely agree with his ranking based on his record for most clean sheets in Premier League history.
Are you still taking big Pete?
Gary Neville doesn’t believe Petr Cech is the best goalkeeper in Premier League history
Neville was speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast when he had been informed that Cech had ranked above Schmeichel in Carragher’s rankings.
While the former United man credited Cech for a ‘sensational’ career at Stamford Bridge, he reinforced his point about Schmeichel ranking higher, as well as former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman.

He said: “Interesting. What I’m not going to start doing now is start sort of laying into Petr Cech. No, no, no. Look, I think Petr Cech’s a sensational goalkeeper for a long time at Chelsea. I wouldn’t have him above Schmeichel. I don’t think I’d have him above David Seaman.”
The Dane was second in Carragher’s list, while Seaman was down at number nine, below former Chelsea shot stopper Thibaut Courtois.
The Blues legend is amongst the defensive unit which holds the record for the least goals conceded in a single season. Cech believes this record is nearly-impossible to beat.

Petr Cech brilliance has actually made life hard for Robert Sanchez
The heights Chelsea reached with Cech in goal is likely why the bar is so high for current goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to reach in the present day.
The Spaniard has emerged as one of the top ‘keepers in the league. Sanchez actually ranks above David Raya in the stats this season.
Despite this, pundits are still very quick to criticise him. Ian Wright believes Chelsea need to replace Sanchez if they want to win the league.
In truth, Sanchez is far from the problem at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea would be better off making signings that strengthen the centre-back and striker positions first.
