CM Punk and Seth Rollins have a heated rivalry in WWE. Now, Punk has challenged Rollins to put his Chicago Bears fandom to the test.
Punk and AJ Lee appeared on ESPN’s Get Up to promote the 2026 WWE Elimination Chamber event, which takes place at the United Center in Chicago. During the appearance, Punk was asked a “loaded” question: Who’s a bigger and realer Bears fan, CM Punk or Seth Rollins?
“You know, as a sports fan, I don’t like gatekeeping. I don’t want to shun anyone, but I was born in Chicago,” CM Punk explained. “Seth was born and raised in Idaho [and] I understand there’s no football team there. There’s maybe just potatoes.
“I’m not going to say who’s the bigger Bears fan,” Punk continued. “But I would challenge him on the spot to sing the Super Bowl Shuffle, and I don’t think he could do it.”
Rollins was born in Iowa, not Idaho, but Punk was still right in saying that the state does not have a professional football team.
The Super Bowl Shuffle
The Super Bowl Shuffle is the song (and dance) performed by the 1985 Chicago Bears on the way to their Super Bowl XX victory. The song featured lyrics like “We are the Bears Shufflin’ Crew, Shufflin’ on down, doin’ it for you. We’re so bad, we know we’re good, Blowin’ your mind like we knew we would.”
It would be impressive if any Bears fan knew the whole song, if it’s not already a measuring stick for true fandom.
The Chicago Bears are just about the only thing that CM Punk and Seth Rollins have in common. (Or, a topic they can at least agree on.) The Bears have played in Chicago for more than 100 years. However, the team is now entertaining the idea of building a new stadium in Hammond, Indiana. The move has been largely criticized by Bears fans, including Punk and Rollins.
Rollins called the move a “PR stunt” during an interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay. Punk said the Bears’ move to Indiana was motivated by greed. Despite being rivals in WWE, Rollins recently teased a way the two could ever make amends with each other.
