Aston Villa are keeping a watching brief on Andy Robertson’s situation at Liverpool

That’s according to website Caught Offside who claim Villa are one of three Premier League clubs ‘monitoring developments’ with the Scotland international. Wolves and Crystal Palace are also mentioned.

They reckon Atletico Madrid admire the left back and point to the obvious emotional attachment with Celtic – with the 31-year-old’s Reds career seemingly ticking down.

Tottenham were interested in ending his nine-year Anfield career in January but Arne Slot did not want to weaken his squad.

Robertson, who will be out of contract in the summer, has lost his first choice berth to Milos Kerkez and has started only 13 games this season, with 26 appearances in all compeitions.

He looks set to move on at the end of the campaign and Villa are one of six teams linked with a player who has been English, European and World champion during his time with Liverpool.

Villa currently have Ian Maatsen and Lucas Digne vying for game time, with the former having made 12 Premier League starts and the latter 15. Digne has been linked with French club Lille.
