Former NFL MVP Cam Newton didn’t need a field or a jersey to give fans a fresh memory to relish about his playing days. Spotted at a high-profile hotel recently, the legendary American footballer left his routine to catch up with a few kids around the venue.
There’s no doubt the kids will clearly remember the experience for as long as they can. And for the fans, Newton has clearly demonstrated a human side that’ll make many love him even more.

Another individual who possibly accompanied Newton caught the entire moment on camera. Newton was seen exchanging football throws with the kids, playing with as much luxury and ease as possible in the hotel environment.
And what might have just appeared as a simple moment turned out to be a potential for the football star to impact the younger generation. Meanwhile, this show was never a one-off event, despite Newton, who has often shown up for younger folks who love the game.
Whether via his 7-on-7 camps or by handing out touchdowns like candy, the 2015 MVP has often demonstrated his penchant for connecting with the kids.
At 36, Newton’s days as a professional athlete are behind him. After a $6 million contract with the Carolina Panthers expired, Newton officially stepped away from the game in 2021. Today, he’s seen encouraging younger athletes – and children – to put up their best foot in the sport.
Recently, Newtonweighed in on a situation concerning Super Bowl LX winner Sam Darnold, who reportedly lost over $70,000 in California’s jock taxes – despite his wages for lifting the Lombardi Trophy.
Despite earning a $178,000 bonus for winning the championship, Darnold actually lost money on the game once California taxes were applied. Weighing in on the issue, Cam Newton tells fans that the reality is far more common and more dangerous than most fans realize.
For working – training, practicing, and conducting media sections in California, Darnold was taxed $249,000, $71,000 more than the $178,000 Super Bowl bonus. “That’s just stupid,” Newton said harshly, while reacting to the numbers.
