Expectations usually aren’t that high for second-round NBA Draft picks, but Maxime Raynaud is raising the bar.
Raynaud, the 42nd pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, has been an impressive pickup for the Sacramento Kings as the Stanford product continues to climb the rookie rankings.
The French center has taken full advantage of a boost in playing time as franchise big Domantas Sabonis (knee) will remain sidelined for the remainder of the regular season.
More on Sacramento Kings rookie Maxime Raynaud
Over the past 10 games, Maxime Raynaud has averaged 13.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game on 59 percent shooting from the field (29.2 minutes per game).
Raynaud has posted a double-double in three-straight games (four of his past five games), increasing his season total to 11–the most of any rookie in the 2025 class.
Sacramento’s rookie center also ranks in the top 10 in rebounds per game (second), total rebounds (second), points (tenth), win shares (tenth), and minutes played (tenth).

Maxime Raynaud is the first Sacramento Kings rookie to post three-straight points-rebounds double-doubles since Marvin Bagley III did so in three-straight games during the 2018-19 season.
The 22-year-old holds season averages of 10.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game on 55 percent shooting from the field over 51 games (33 starts).
If those averages hold, Raynaud would be the first Kings rookie in the Sacramento era (1985-present) to average at least 10 and 7 on 55 percent shooting or better.
Not bad for a second-round pick, although many draft talent evaluators viewed Raynaud as a first-round talent. He’s proving that for a Sacramento team that will need stability in the front court as they look towards a new era.
