The New England Patriots are expecting two key veteran players to be back in 2026. Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf indicated that he expects Morgan Moses and Harold Landry to be back next season Patriots.com’s Evan Lazar reported this.
Moses was a major free-agent acquisition for the Patriots. He signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the organization in March last year. He appeared in all 17 games for the organization last season, and was a key piece of the offensive line. This marked the second season in his career that he appeared in all 17 games for the year.
Landry was a major defensive piece of the organization last season. He went to New England on a three-year, $43 million base deal with $26 million fully guaranteed. This represented a reunion with coach Mike Vrabel as the two worked together when Vrabel was at Tennessee.

Landry Key When Healthy For New England Patriots
Landry ended up having a stellar season for the team. He played in 15 games, starting 14 of them. He recorded 49 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. If there was one downside for Landry, it was the injuries. Those played a major part in his 2025 season on multiple levels. He had knee injuries that disrupted his season, and they played a factor in his postseason availability.
The linebacker was able to return for the Wild Card game against the Chargers after dealing with those injury issues. He was inactive for the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos.
Both of these players played a major role for the Patriots this season. Moses was more consistent, partly due to his health and availability. He served as a veteran on a young Patriots offensive line and provided stability and consistency for the team. He had a 78.7 run-blocking grade and a 71 pass-blocking grade. He allowed only two sacks on the season all year, according to statistics from Pro Football Focus.
Landry proved to be a key pass-rusher for the team when healthy. He was first on the team in sacks. He certainly proved to be a key player on a tough Mike Vrabel-led team. However, those injuries are certainly worth monitoring. For now though, it looks like the Patriots will be bringing Landry back. This is good news, as he was a key component of what the Patriots wanted to do stylistically. They wanted to play aggressively and be aggressive as well. They were able to do that.
A Situation To Monitor For All Parties
This is certainly a situation to monitor. Wolf has to say the right things publicly, and he would necessarily give a solid indication of their futures with the team. Even still, these two played a key role in what the Patriots did last season, on their way to a Super Bowl appearance.
The Patriots have a lot of decisions and moves to make over the next couple of weeks. It’s important to remember that the NFL combine is a time when teams explore the possibility of trades and moving pieces. For now, it seems like things will stay put for the organization.
