Chelsea are making strides to beat Manchester United and a host of other top clubs to the signing of Olympiacos midfielder Christos Mouzakitis, according to reports.
Signing young players has been part of the club’s mantra since the new owners came to the club, and they are now finally starting to see the fruits of their labour with Estevao Willian and Andrey Santos.
There has been criticism of this method by supporters who want to see experienced stars come through the door, but it looks as if Todd Boehly and co are going to stick to their plan.
Surely we can just put our trust in Andrey Santos?
Or are the club worried about Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo?

Journalist Simon Phillips has stated that Chelsea are ‘intensively’ scouring the young midfielder, with a number of other elite sides interested in a deal too.
He said on his Substack: “But there is one name who they are starting to ‘intensively’ scout now, and this one could have legs to it as a result.
“SPTC sources have heard that Chelsea are ‘intensively’ scouting Olympiacos midfielder Christos Mouzakitis.
“PSG, Manchester United, and other top clubs in Europe have also recently been taking an interest in the midfield gem, who is really starting to make a name for himself in the game. Real Madrid have also been credited with interest via some outlets.”
The Blues already know they are in for an exciting summer. They are set to add Geovany Quenda and Mike Penders to their first team squad after already completing deals to sign them.

Who is Christos Mouzakitis?
Mouzakitis is already up to 30 appearances in all competitions this season, despite being just 19 years of age.
He has featured in all nine of Olympiacos’ Champions League games this season, although they face a mountain to climb if they are to progress past Bayer Leverkusen.
Central midfield is a position Chelsea have struggled with when it comes to depth this season, forcing Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo to play the bulk of minutes.
Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo have endured massive injury problems all season, however the Belgian is closing in on a return to action.
