Michael Strahan, an award-winning television host and anchor, entrepreneur, Super Bowl champion and both Pro and College Football Hall of Famer, is co-anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” alongside George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts, and host of ABC’s primetime show “The $100,000 Pyramid.” Michael joined “GMA” in 2014, and he was named co-anchor in 2016. In 2024, ABC debuted “Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight Against Cancer,” an emotional primetime documentary produced by ABC News Studios and SMAC Productions, which followed Strahan’s daughter Isabella’s diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The special offered an intimate look at the impact of cancer on a family and the resilience of those fighting it.
From 2012 through 2016, Strahan co-hosted the top-rated, nationally syndicated entertainment talk show “Live with Kelly and Michael.” Strahan and co-host Kelly Ripa were awarded both the 2015 and 2016 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

Prior to joining the ranks of the top broadcasters in the country, Strahan played for 15 years in the NFL, was a seven-time Pro Bowler, and was one of only four players ever to lead the NFL in sacks for two seasons. In 2007, Strahan led the New York Giants to a dramatic Super Bowl victory over the previously undefeated New England Patriots. His spectacular NFL career earned Strahan induction into the 2014 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, the sport’s highest honor, and the College Football Hall of Fame class in 2025. During the NFL football season, he serves as an analyst on “Fox NFL Sunday.”
Born in Houston, Texas, Strahan spent most of his youth in Germany, where his father Gene was stationed in the U.S. Army. Strahan returned to the U.S. for part of high school and was soon recruited to play football at Texas Southern University.
