Jaylen Brown has been ruled out of the Boston Celtics' game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The All-Star forward is dealing with a right knee contusion. Jayson Tatum is the only other name on Boston's injury report heading into the game. Brown has been a key member of Joe Mazzulla's rotation this season and has shone in a primary offensive role.

The Celtics come into Tuesday’s game having won both of their contests since returning to action following the All-Star break. They currently boast a 37-19 record and sit second in the Eastern Conference, five games behind the Detroit Pistons, who lead the pack.
Without Brown in the rotation, both Payton Pritchard and Derrick White will need to pick up some of the offensive slack. Brown has carried a sizeable scoring burden this season, so his minutes and production will be tough for the Celtics to replace.
Fortunately for the Celtics, they’re 4-1 when playing without Brown this season. They’ve recorded wins over the Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets. Their one loss without Brown came against the Indiana Pacers on December 12.
Phoenix will provide a different test, though. The Suns are currently seventh in a loaded Western Conference; however, they’re 4-6 over their last 10 games, which should give Boston confidence in its chances. Still, having Brown available would have helped. In 51 games this season, he’s averaging 29.2 points, 7 rebounds and 4.9 assists, shooting 53.1% from 2-point range and 34.4% from deep.
Boston will tip off against the Suns at 9 p.m. Eastern, in the third game of its four-game West Coast road trip.
