Real Madrid attacker Kylian Mbappé is expected to miss Wednesday’s match against Benfica in the return leg of the Champions League’s Round of 32 with a knee injury, according to a report from L’Equipe.
Mbappé had been playing through pain for quite some time, but today he wasn’t able to complete the training session with the rest of the group, per that same report.
Real Madrid have not published a medical report or the squad list for the game yet, but L’Equipe’s report should be reliable as they initially reported Mbappé‘s knee issues in December.
Gonzalo García will likely replace the French striker in the lineup, with Real Madrid having a 1-0 lead on aggregate and needing at least a draw to advance to the Round of 16.
