The injury happened Monday night in Houston during a matchup against the Houston Rockets.

Early in the second quarter, Williams was pushing the pace in transition on a fast break. As he sprinted down the floor, Rockets forward Tari Eason hip-checked him near midcourt.

Williams tried to regain balance after the contact, but his left knee bent awkwardly. He immediately went down and slid out of bounds in front of the Jazz bench.

Jazz medical staff rushed to help him off the floor. The 25-year-old guard could not put weight on his leg and was taken straight to the locker room. He later left the arena on crutches.

Williams appeared in 40 games this season, averaging 7.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. He provided backcourt depth, playmaking, and energy on both ends of the floor.
