“They’ll Talk”: Philadelphia Eagles Open Contract Talks With Star TE

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert agreed to a $4.25 million pay cut last offseason in exchange for a fully guaranteed $10 million salary and up to $1 million in incentives. He had a strong 2025 campaign, setting career highs in receptions and receiving touchdowns, while playing the most regular-season games since 2018. Goedert hauled in 60 receptions on 82 targets for 591 yards and 11 touchdowns in 15 regular-season games, plus four catches for 33 yards and one touchdown in the playoffs.

With his contract voiding, the Eagles will carry a $20.49 million dead cap charge this offseason. The front office could minimize that charge by designating him as a post-June 1 release, which would spread the dead cap into the next offseason at $7.55 million in 2026 and $12.94 million in 2027. Also, the team could extend him, which could ultimately reduce his cap hit.

During Tuesday’s press conference at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, Howie Roseman was asked about Dallas Goedert, who is scheduled to hit free agency in March, as reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The general manager said they will talk with the star tight end’s agent in the coming days. Roseman points to how they reached an agreement with Goedert last year and hopes to do the same this year.
