Blazers’ Sharpe diagnosed with stress reaction in fibula; out at least 4-6 weeks

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe has been diagnosed with a stress reaction in his left fibula, the team announced Tuesday.

The team says the injury was revealed during follow-up imaging of Sharpe, out since Feb. 6 with a left calf strain. He will be re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks.

The timeline puts the 22-year-old’s status for the rest of the season in jeopardy. The Blazers wrap up the regular season on April 12 against the Sacramento Kings.

Portland is currently in line to participate in the NBA Play-In Tournament, between teams ranked seventh through tenth in the conference standings at the end of the regular season.

Sharpe is enjoying a career year for the Blazers, averaging 21 points, four rebounds and nearly three assists per game over 48 appearances with 42 starts.

The fourth-year budding star missed 50 games during the 2023-24 season due to injury, before rebounding to make 72 appearances last season.

For Portland, the news comes just two days after All-Star Deni Avdija exited their win against the Phoenix Suns in the opening minute due to a lingering back injury.

The Trail Blazers (28-30) host the Minnesota Timberwolves (35-23) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
