Chelsea have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, according to reports in Germany.
Sport Bild claim that the two Premier League clubs are “interested” in the 25-year-old, with both having kept tabs on his progress over the past few months.
Nmecha is the younger brother of Leeds striker Lukas, and he actually came through Manchester City’s academy before leaving on a free transfer for Wolfsburg in the summer of 2021.
The German international moved to Dortmund for €30m two years later, and he has made 105 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga side over the last two and a half years.

Nmecha has already addressed Premier League rumours
Asked about a potential transfer to an English club before Dortmund played Tottenham in the Champions League last month, the midfielder did not give a straight answer:
“Whether I want to play in the Premier League or not, I won’t say now.”
That would suggest, at the very least, that Nmecha is open to the prospect of returning to the Premier League five years after leaving City. Check out the latest Chelsea kits at the Nike store here.
Chelsea would have to pay a sizeable fee to sign him
Sport Bild report that Dortmund have slapped a €70m (£61m) asking price on Nmecha, which is a substantial premium on what they paid for him.
A lot will depend on how highly Blues rate the German. Respected sources have confirmed the club are looking to reinforce their options in the middle of the park this summer.
Romeo Lavia may be close to returning to fitness, but his woeful injury record means the Belgian cannot be relied upon, and it appears a list of potential replacements is being drawn up. Nmecha is clearly among the names under consideration.
