Ex-Bucks star Khris Middleton hit with unfortunate news after big night for the Mavericks

Former Milwaukee Bucks star forward Khris Middleton had a big night on Sunday for the Dallas Mavericks, as he scored 25 points on an 11/15 shooting from the field in a vintage performance against the Indiana Pacers on the road. He added seven rebounds and seven assists in that 134-130 win by the Mavs.

However, Middleton could not follow up that performance with another great one, as he was forced to leave Tuesday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center early because of an apparent upper-body injury.

Via NBA insider Marc Stein:

The Mavericks say Khris Middleton (right shoulder stinger) will not return to tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Ex-Bucks star Middleton leaves Mavericks game with concerning injury

Before he exited the Nets game, the 34-year-old Middleton had scored only six points on 2/4 shooting, while recording five rebounds, an assist and a steal in 12 minutes of action.

Already without star rookie Cooper Flagg, the Mavericks are left with an even thinner offense following Middleton’s departure.

The hope for Dallas is that Middleton did not suffer anything serious enough to keep him sidelined beyond this matchup against Brooklyn.

The former Texas A&M Aggies star was traded by the Washington Wizards to Dallas via a three-team swap before the February deadline.

Middleton will always be remembered more for his time with the Bucks than his any other stint with an NBA team. He played 12-plus seasons in Milwaukee colors and during that time, he scored a total of 12,586 points across 735 games.
