CM Punk never passes up a chance to take a shot at a rival, especially Seth Rollins. And this week was no different. Before defending his World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 in Chicago, Punk poked again at his longtime rival over his NFL commentary.
Punk was asked about Rollins’ current injury. Seth Rollins has been absent from action due to a torn rotator cuff injury that he suffered in October 2025.
Punk said he doesn’t wish injury on anyone. However, he said that he almost wished Rollins had hurt his jaw instead. Because then, he wouldn’t have to hear his rival talk.
“I don’t wish injury on anybody. He’s out with a pretty devastating shoulder injury and the only thing I can say is I wish he broke his jaw instead so I didn’t have to hear him talk,” the WWE star said during his appearance on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike.
He also joked that even Chicago Bears fans are tired of hearing Rollins talk about football. Punk claimed he gets messages from Chicago fans asking for Rollins to get back in the ring so they don’t have to see him on TV talking about the NFL.
“I get more calls and texts from people in Chicago that are Bears fans that are like ‘please bring this guy back to work, we’re sick of hearing him talk about Football. Get him off my TV screen’,” he said.

Earlier, during another ESPN appearance, alongside AJ Lee, Punk was asked who the “real” Bears fan is, him or Rollins.
Punk said he doesn’t like telling people how to be fans, but pointed out that he was born in Chicago, while Rollins grew up in Idaho. He joked that Idaho doesn’t even have a football team, “just potatoes.”
Punk is now on his road to WrestleMania 42. But before that, he has to face Finn Bálor at the Elimination Chamber. On the other hand, Rollins has to heal fully in order to exact revenge on his naysayers— whoever they may be.
