Draymond Green Made Golden State Warriors History Against Pelicans

On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors played the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center.

The Warriors continue to play without their best player (Steph Curry), and they ended up losing the game by a score of 113-109.

Zion Williamson led New Orleans with 26 points and six rebounds while shooting 11/21 from the field.

Draymond Green finished the loss with 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two blocks while shooting 5/11 from the field and 1/3 from three-point range in 32 minutes of playing time.

The future Hall of Famer also made Warriors history.

Via The Golden State Warriors: “Dray is now the ninth Warrior to ever reach 1,000 offensive rebounds.”

Green is in the middle of his 14th NBA season (all with Golden State).

The 2017 Defensive Player of The Year came into the night with averages of 8.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest while shooting 40.9% from the field and 32.0% from three-point range in 47 games.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater wrote: “The Warriors lose in New Orleans tonight. Doomed by 31-19 first quarter. They’re 11-17 on the road. Three games back of the Suns for the #7 seed, two up on the Blazers for the #8 spot. They play in Memphis tomorrow night. De’Anthony Melton (28 pts tonight) expected to rest.”

The Warriors lose in New Orleans tonight. Doomed by 31-19 first quarter. They’re 11-17 on the road. Three games back of the Suns for the #7 seed, two up on the Blazers for the #8 spot.

They play in Memphis tomorrow night. De’Anthony Melton (28 pts tonight) expected to rest.

The Warriors are currently the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 30-28 record in 58 games.

They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games.

On Wednesday night, the Warriors will play the Grizzlies in Memphis.

Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area wrote: “The Pelicans aren’t paying a single ounce of attention to Draymond Green when the Warriors have the ball and he was just swatted by DeAndre Jordan The Warriors had 25 assists in the first half last game without him and have 7 right now”

On the other side, the Pelicans have had a very challenging year.

They are the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 17-42 record in 59 games.

Currently, the Pelicans are in the middle of a two-game winning streak (and 5-5 over their last ten).

Following Golden State, they will head on the road for a showdown with the Utah Jazz on Thursday night in Salt Lake City.

Green and the Warriors are coming off a season where they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.
