Two injured Chelsea midfielders spotted back in training in huge boost for problem area

Chelsea’s midfielders have been getting very fatigued of late, so it is a huge boost to see both Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo back training.

Lavia has been training for the last couple of weeks and was even involved in an U21 game last week to get his match fitness up ahead of returning soon to the first team squad.

This already has been a huge boost and it looks like Chelsea will be carefully easing him back in to the action as part of his recovery process.

But there is also another midfielder now back in full team training this week that is only going to help all of the above as well.

Essugo back too!

As you can see above, Chelsea now have Essugo and Lavia back in full team training, which is excellent news. These images were taken at training yesterday.

You’d imagine that Essugo will be looked after like the club are with Lavia as well, and he will be eased back into the action gradually as part of his recovery. Both players have proven to be pretty injury prone so far in their careers, so they will need to be handled well now by Chelsea to avoid any more long spells on the side lines. I’d certainly be concerned about Lavia in this sense though.

In other news today…

Sevilla have just wrapped up a deal for a player who was being strongly linked to Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg.

Chelsea had been tracking Omari Kellyman for two years before he eventually signed for the Blues for £19m, a source told the Athletic.
