Report: Florentino Perez won’t let Real Madrid man join Chelsea this summer

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has no intention of letting Aurelien Tchouameni join Chelsea, who are also said to be interested in a couple more Los Blancos stars.

Chelsea already have an elite midfield, boasting the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Andrey Santos.

However, two of the club’s other options, Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo, have been unable to stay fit this season. Lavia did play in a recent Under-21 game, so the good news is that he could be ready for first-team action soon.

Florentino Perez won’t sell Aurelien Tchouameni to Chelsea

Last year, it was claimed that Real Madrid were willing to offer Tchouameni to Chelsea in a bid to sign Fernandez.

Defensa Central, though, are now reporting that Perez has informed Chelsea that Tchouameni will not be sold to them amid serious interest from the Blues.

According to the same outlet, Chelsea also have Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior on their radar.

However, Bellingham and Vinicius are two of Real Madrid’s star players and would likely cost a fortune. It is hard to imagine Chelsea signing either of them, especially with their transfer strategy and wage structure.

While the Blues may not sign Tchouameni this summer, they could still end up bringing in a new midfielder. This week, Chelsea have been linked with Felix Nmecha of Borussia Dortmund.

Surely we can just put our trust in Andrey Santos?

Or are the club worried about Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo?

Chelsea thought they had the next Aurelien Tchouameni

Chelsea have a few French players at the club right now, including Malo Gusto and Wesley Fofana. They also had Lesley Ugochukwu before selling him to Burnley last summer.

In the past, it was reported that Chelsea actually saw similarities between Ugochukwu and Tchouameni.

They never got to see him develop into a player of Tchouameni’s quality, though, and are now putting their trust in other young midfielders such as Santos and Essugo.

Essugo was recently spotted in training, so, like Lavia, he could also be set for a return to action. The Portuguese has not played a single minute of first-team football this season because of injury.
