Contact to sign Tottenham player – Liverpool star bargain alternative if Spurs difficult

Alisson

Italy, Milan, 2025 12 09: Alisson Becker (Liverpool) goes up and saves in the penalty area in the first half during soccer game FC Inter vs Liverpool FC, UCL 2025-2026 Matchday 6 at San Siro Stadium

Juventus have added Liverpool’s Alisson Becker to their target list that already included Tottenham Hotspur’s Guglielmo Vicario.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who cover the latest on the Liverpool star and the Tottenham goalkeeper.

Last week, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of Inter Milan’s keen interest in the 29-year-old Italy international.

Two days ago, we relayed news that Juve are in pole to sign Vicario and will compete with the Nerazzurri. The source also stated Tottenham are looking at €25-30m for the stopper.

Why Alisson is a new idea for Juventus

Gazzetta report on Alisson and Vicario being options for the Turin club.

Michele Di Gregorio is currently the No.1 at Juve, and his recent performances haven’t been convincing. This has seen them look at options and they have the Liverpool and Spurs players in their list.

The Brazil international previously played under Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti at AS Roma. The 33-year-old left them for the Reds in 2018 and has been the No.1 at Anfield since then.

A potential move for Alisson or Vicario depends on the Old Lady’s budget for the next window.

The newspaper state that if Juve’s budget is tight, then Alisson will be their ‘main option’ for the summer.

He has less than 18 months left on his contract. Gazzetta state this, coupled with Giorgi Mamardashvili’s presence at Anfield, works in Juve’s favour. In other words, this is giving the Italian club optimism to sign the Brazilian.

New contact for Tottenham player

Meanwhile, Vicario continues to be on their agenda, and in recent days, Juve made new contact to sign him

Gazzetta state: ‘If the budget were larger and the Bianconeri executives wanted to make a more far-reaching choice, with a goalkeeper capable of having more years of career ahead of him, the main route would lead to London, where Guglielmo Vicario has been defending Tottenham for three years now.’

The newspaper again points out Igor Tudor’s side valuing Vicario around €25-30m.

To sum it up, Alisson is seen as the cheaper alternative to the Tottenham player. This shows Juventus believe the South American is valued at much less than €25m.
