Chelsea have the chance to bring in some new faces when the summer transfer window opens up for business
Borussia Dortmund would be ‘willing’ to negotiate a deal worth £61million for Felix Nmecha amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, according to German news outlet Bild. The Blues are being linked with a move for the Bundesliga star this summer. He is under contract in Germany until June 2028 but his long-term future is up in the air.
Liam Rosenior’s side are sat in 5th place in the Premier League table. They find themselves behind Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa and United after 27 fixtures. The London outfit have 11 more games left to play before the end of the season.
Chelsea linked with Felix Nmecha at Borrusia Dortmund
Chelsea could see Nmecha at Dortmund as someone to bolster their squad for the next campaign. If he joined, he would inject more quality into the midfield department at Stamford Bridge. In addition, he would provide more competition and depth in the middle of the park for Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
Nmecha, 25, has been with his current club since joining them back in 2023. They could now face a battle to keep hold of him though amid attention from elsewhere. He has made 105 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with 13 goals, five of which have come this term.
The Germany international, who has six caps to his name, rose up through the academy at Manchester City. He went on to play three times for the first-team at the Etihad Stadium. The Hamburg-born man then left the North West to join Wolfsburg in 2021 before his switch to Signal-Iduna Park two years later.
What now for Chelsea?
Chelsea are back in action this weekend with an away trip to Arsenal. They drew 1-1 with Burnley last time out. Speaking after their frustrating draw with the Clarets, Rosenior said: **"**What has happened with me is we have set fire to four points from two home games. Anyone watching the game, it's not good enough for a club of this level.
"It's not good enough for me to come and say we were the better team. We need to be the better team in every game. We need to win games of football. I know what the answer is and we will address it in the week. There's an inquest after every game, whether we win or lose.
"I'm learning about the players. I'm learning about the people you can lean on when things aren't going your way and you need to see a game out. That's something we need to address very quickly."
