Bucks legend ‘okay’ seeing 1 intriguing 2026 NBA Finals matchup

It is too early to tell which teams are likely to face off in the 2026 edition of the NBA Finals, butformer Milwaukee Bucks sharpshooter Michael Redd is fine seeing one particular matchup in June.

After watching the San Antonio Spurs and theDetroit Pistons go at it on Monday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, Redd said that he’s fine seeing those two teams meet in the grandest stage of NBA basketball.

“I would be more than OK with a Detroit Pistons / San Antonio Spurs finals. Gives me deja vu and brings me back to my playing days, when those two teams were built…sorta like these ones are. Guard play, bigs. Skill, aggression. Offense and defense. Love it!”wrotethe former NBA All-Star in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter).

Spurs, Pistons impress Bucks legend Redd

In that contest, Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs prevailed, as they took down the Pistons to the tune of a 114-103 score, thus also extending San Antonio’s winning streak to nine games, while snapping Detroit’s five-game undefeated run.

Devin Vassell led the Spurs with 28 points on 10/14 shooting from the field, while Wembanyama had 21 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks. As for the Pistons, they got 25 points and 14 boards from Jalen Duren, while Cade Cunningham had 16 points and 1i assists in a losing effort.

Nevertheless, the Pistons remain the top team in the Eastern Conference. As for the Spurs, they are second in the Western Conference standings — just three games behind the reigning NBA champions Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Spurs and the Pistons will see each other once more in the regular season on March 5 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.
